Beat The Radar – Demo

While there’s certainly a distinct 80’s feel to the two tracks on Beat The Radar’s latest demo, the band are not simply retreading old ground as both tracks have their own distinctive sound and standout in their own ways.

“Misunderstood What You Said” is perhaps the better of the two as it showcases some impressive melodies and displays the sort of pop sensibilities of a band on the verge of greater things. Meanwhile, “By The Sea” is another impressive effort which follows a similar sort of formula as the first track. While it lacks the killer chorus of “Misunderstood What You Said”, the track does make up for it by creating an impressively melodic racket to ensure that it remains fairly memorable even after just a few listens. A solid effort then, from a band who continue to improve and with a little work they could well go on to bigger things.
